Dog & Cat Days of Summer

The Dog & Cat Days of Summer returns to the Outstanding In Its Field Gallery, August 4 – 27, 2023. The show includes garden art, oil painting, sculpture, linocut prints, felted works, leather collars, mosaics, and pastels. A portion of this month’s proceeds benefits the Vashon Island Pet Protectors. The Gallery is located at 10524 S.W. 188th St, just west of Sawbones, and will be open Fridays – Sundays, Noon – 5 pm, and weekdays by appointment by calling 206.419.0199.

The First Friday celebration, August 4th, from 5 pm to 9 pm, will include the chance to meet the artists, fresh-baked treats (for humans and dogs), and a performance by Kat Eggleston in the gallery’s party pasture. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets or camp chairs.

Vashon Island Pet Protectors offer sservices and programs for Vashon Island residents and their pets with the goal of preventing pet homelessness in our island community. Outstanding In Its Field Gallery is open May – October each year with monthly themed-exhibits featuring Vashon Island Artists almost exclusively. Additional shows planned for 2023 include Of a Feather, The Spirits of Autumn. The gallery will also be open for the VIVA Art Tours in May and December.
